Gujarat-based pharma company Zydus Cadila has agreed to reduce the price of corona vaccine by Rs 265 per dose but the final decision on this is yet to come. Sources gave this information on Sunday. A source privy to the development told news agency PTI, “After talks between the company and the government, it has been decided to reduce the cost of each dose to Rs 358, which includes the cost of a disposable jet applicator of Rs 93.” ‘

In fact, a dose of needle-free ZyCov-D vaccine requires a disposable painless jet applicator of Rs 93. That is, now the cost of one dose of the vaccine will be Rs 358 (265 + 93). Let us tell you that earlier the company had proposed a price of Rs 1900 for three doses.

Meanwhile, the government is still awaiting the recommendations of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) for adults and children with comorbidities (a person who has had more than one serious illness at the same time). ZyCoV-D can be introduced in the vaccination campaign. NTAGI will provide the protocol and framework for the inclusion of this vaccine in the corona immunization campaign.
