State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that 2,000 technical assistants would be appointed soon to overcome the shortage of employees in the agriculture sector. He exhorted the farmers that they can increase their income by using the right technology being told by the scientists, reducing the cost and selling the products through the marketing system.

Shahi was addressing the program ‘Scientists ki Baat with farmers’ on Thursday. This program was organized through videoconferencing in which farmers from all the districts of the state were involved. Here scientists gave important suggestions to farmers to increase productivity and income. The Agriculture Minister also informed about the steps taken by the Central and State Governments for the welfare of the farmers. Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi directed the departmental officers to ensure the quality of agricultural chemicals. He told the farmers that they must take receipt from the seller while purchasing the agricultural defense chemicals.
