Taking an important decision today, the cabinet has decided to extend PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana to provide free ration to the poor till March 2022. Union Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information on the decisions of the cabinet today. Under the fifth phase, there will be an estimated food subsidy of Rs 53,344.52 crore on food grains.

Proposal to withdraw agricultural law also approved
Apart from this, the cabinet has also approved the proposal to withdraw the agriculture law, which will be presented in the winter session of Parliament. Anurag Thakur said that today the Union Cabinet under the leadership of PM completed the formalities to repeal three agriculture laws. It will be our priority to withdraw these three laws during the upcoming session of Parliament.

Let us inform that on November 5, the statement of the Food Secretary had come that there is no proposal to extend the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana after November 30. He said that the economy is now moving towards recovery. In such a situation, there is no plan for expansion of PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

Actually, the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana was announced in March 2020 to overcome the crisis caused by Corona. Initially the scheme was launched for the period April-June 2020, but later it was extended till November 30.
