Jagdishpur (Amethi). Agricultural scientists have advised farmers to sow mustard in order to improve the agriculture affected due to less rainfall in Kharif season.
According to scientists, by doing sowing in the beginning of October by treating seeds and managing fertilizers, where the production will increase, the possibility of disease in the crop will also be minimal. Dr. RK Anand, an agricultural scientist working in Krishi Vigyan Kendra, gave this information through an advisory issued regarding the sowing of mustard.
He said that it is possible to increase the income of farmers by producing oilseed crops along with paddy and wheat. While most of the farmers could not sow paddy due to less rain, the paddy crop has also been destroyed due to various reasons. Such farmers can improve their affected income by sowing mustard.
According to scientists, if there is more production in the fields in October due to sufficient moisture, then there is less chance of disease in the crop. Mustard requires friable soil. For this, farmers should apply a deep tillage after harvesting of Kharif crops to conserve moisture.
To increase production, two to three kg of Azotobacter and PAB culture should be mixed with 50 kg of decomposed cow dung or vermiculture before final plowing.
