A sudden fire broke out in the engine of the Ayodhya depot bus coming from Azamgarh to Lucknow near Burlington intersection on Vidhansabha Marg on Sunday night.
Seeing the smoke coming out of the front, the driver Sudhir Dubey stopped the bus. The ten passengers on the bus were immediately brought down by the operator Sandeep Kumar Yadav.
After getting information from the policemen posted at the crossroads, FSO Ramkumar Rawat from Hazratganj Fire Station reached the spot with four fire tenders.
The fire was extinguished in about half an hour, but by then the bus had been reduced to ashes. Rajnish Mishra, a resident of South City, who was in the bus, said that the fire was not detected.
When the bus stopped, the operator made a noise and asked to get down, then all the passengers got down. Within a few minutes, the bus started burning up. (My City Reporter)
