As soon as the Muhurta trading started, the Sensex closed at 60867.62 with a gain of 295 points and the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) jumped 87 points to trade at 17916.80.

On the day of Diwali, Sawant 2078 has started with a good growth in the stock market. On this occasion, the Sensex-Nifty opened on the green mark during Muhurta trading for one hour. At 6.15 pm, the BSE Sensex opened at 60,207.97 and the NSE Nifty opened at 17,935.05.

During the entire trading session, both kept trading on the green mark. At the end of trading, the 30-share Sensex closed at 60,067.62, with a gain of 296 points or 0.49 per cent, while the Nifty gained 88 points to close at 17,916.80. During this, there was a lot of buying in all the sectors of the Sensex.

Huge jump in Eicher Motors shares
Eicher Motors was the top gainer of 6.50 per cent since the market opened, followed by M&M with a gain of 2.76 per cent. Along with this, ITC, Kotak Bank, L&T, SBI, Bajaj Auto and Nestle India were also among the top gainers. On the other hand, Hindalco’s shares were the biggest losers in this Muhurta trading.

Investors showed enthusiasm
The start of Muhurta trading was very good as expected. As soon as the market opened, the Sensex has crossed 60100 and Nifty 17900 due to the buying trend among the investors. Buying trend was seen in almost all the stocks on Sensex. Investors were seen buying in IT and banking stocks. Every year on the occasion of Diwali, trading takes place for one hour after Lakshmi Puja and the Diwali market of the last three years closed with a gain.

Signs were seen in the pre-opening session itself
The pre-opening session started at 6 pm, just before the start of Muhurta trading at 6.15 pm. The signs of an uptrend in the market were already visible in this. With its opening, the Sensex was up 576.58 points or 0.96% at 60348.50 and the Nifty jumped 122 points or 0.68% to close at 17951.20.

Muhurta trading status last year
Talking about Diwali Muhurat Trading 2020, the Sensex closed at the level of 43638 and recorded a rise of 195 points on that day. Nifty closed with a gain of 51 points at 12771 level. The biggest boom of Muhurta trading on Diwali came in 2008. The Sensex had gained 5.86 per cent on that day.
