It is said that dal roti ghar di, diwali Amritsar di. Due to this saying, lakhs of devotees reached Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji on the eve of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas. On this occasion Shri Harmandir Sahib ji is decorated with beautiful lights. About two lakh devotees have reached Amritsar to see Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji’s Diwali.

These devotees have reached here from different states of the country and many other countries. Devotees will make their Diwali memorable by watching fireworks tonight in the illuminated Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji premises.

All over the world where Hindus light lamps in their homes and offices on the return of Lord Shri Ram to Ayodhya. On the other hand, in Sikhism, this day is celebrated with pomp as Bandi Chhor Diwas.

On this occasion, the shade and view of Shri Harmandir Sahib ji is very beautiful. Deepmala has been lit around the lake. Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji is decorated with colorful lights. This has added to the beauty of Sri Harmandir Sahib. On this special day, the devotees are offered kheer and jalebi along with dal roti in the langar. There will be fireworks at night and green crackers will be used for the environment.
