Petrol prices in the country have been running at Rs 100 a liter for some time now. The central government on Wednesday reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 and on diesel by Rs 10 a litre. Due to this, their prices have come down to the highest level. This decision has been taken after the party’s defeat in some BJP-ruled states in the recent by-elections.
