A workshop was held on Sunday at Jwala Devi Inter College under the Amrit Mahotsav campaign being celebrated by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. In this, the convener of Amrit Mahotsav Organizing Committee Kashi province and history scholar Dr. Anand Shankar Singh said that the whole of India was never a slave. We were all taught this false history.

As the keynote speaker, Dr. Anand Shankar said that even during the times of the Mughals and the British, the kingdom remained a princely state. The Vijayanagara Empire, the Maratha Empire always remained the eyes of the Mughals. Alexander entered from one corner of the country, but he too had to return defeated on the opposite foot. He insisted that our history is not of slavery, but of resistance.

Indian culture and village power never allowed the country to become a slave. That is why the British attacked both of them. He abolished the culture through English education and village Swaraj through the new settlement system. Citing history, he said that the freedom struggle was not fought only to get political freedom. The fight for independence was a fight for the awakening of self.

The main purpose of the Amrit Mahotsav campaign is to awaken the self. Earlier in the workshop, Dr. Raj Bihari, co-province functionary, informed the speakers about the organizational topics and outlined the Amrit Mahotsav campaign. On this occasion co-departmental work Ghanshyam, Dr. MJ Tripathi, Professor Satyapal, Prof. SP Singh, Amit Pandey, department campaigner Dr. Piyush etc. were present.
