Pm Reviews Projects Worth Rs 20,000 Crore At ‘pragati’ Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while presiding over the 39th ‘Pragati’ meeting on Wednesday, reviewed eight projects worth about Rs 20,000 crore in seven states. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister reviewed nine agendas, including eight projects and one plan.

Eight projects of these states
Of the eight projects, three were from the Ministry of Railways, two each from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Power. One project was of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. These eight projects with a total cost of about Rs 20,000 crore pertain to seven states- Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and West Bengal. The Prime Minister emphasized on timely completion of projects to avoid cost escalation.

PM also reviews ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’
During the interaction, the Prime Minister also reviewed the ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’. He said that POSHAN Abhiyaan should be implemented in mission mode in each state with full government approach. Modi also talked about the involvement of self-help groups and other local organizations in promoting awareness about children’s health and nutrition at the grassroots level, which will help improve the campaign’s reach and uplift, the statement said. According to the PMO, 303 projects with a total cost of Rs 14.64 lakh crore have been reviewed in 38 PRAGATI meetings so far. ‘Pragati’ is an ICT based multi-modal platform for proactive governance and timely implementation of projects involving Central and State Governments.
