Naval Commanders Conference To Be Held From Monday – Will Increase Synergy

The top commanders of the Indian Navy will comprehensively review the country’s maritime security, including the security situation in the Indian Ocean region, in a five-day conference beginning Monday.

Officials said on Saturday that Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane and Chief of Air Staff VR Choudhary will hold talks with naval commanders on a range of issues. In view of the emerging regional security situation, this includes increasing coordination among the three wings of the army.

Navy Spokesperson Vivek Madhwal said, “The summit assumes significance in view of the rapidly changing geo-strategic situation in the region. It is an institutional forum to discuss, give directions and decide on issues of utmost importance, which will shape the future course of action of the Navy, he said.

Commander Madhwal said that Navy Chief Karambir Singh along with other commanders will review operational, logistics, training and human resource development issues and discuss future plans for important activities and initiatives.
