Modi Govt Pro-poor, Pro-farmers But Industry Friendly: Mansukh Mandaviya

Terming the Modi government as pro-poor, farmer-friendly and industry-friendly, Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the Center intends to reform the chemical and petrochemicals sector to boost domestic manufacturing and attract investments. Mandaviya is also the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare. He asked the industry to reduce pollution and become environment friendly by reducing hazardous chemicals.

Industrial development is needed to move the country forward.
Mandaviya was addressing a conference jointly organized by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals and FICCI. Mandaviya said that the Modi government is poor, farmer friendly as well as industry friendly. We know that industrial development is needed if the country is to progress. The country cannot really progress without industrial development.

He said that the policy of the Modi government has been to respect and encourage the wealth creators who have been partners in the development of the country. Highlighting the importance of this sector, he said that chemical and petrochemical products have become a part of our lives.

This big opportunity, industries need to take advantage of it
The Minister said that there is a huge opportunity in this sector at this time. Industries need to take advantage of this. He said that such conferences provide a forum for discussion about the development of the region. Industrialists should discuss and do research to know which policy reforms are needed for the development of this sector. The findings of the report should be submitted to the ministry. Mandaviya said that if we have to bring policy and reform, then we have to do it for the industries. We are not among policy makers sitting in government offices.
