LDA will now lease the nine-storey budget hotel at Avadh bus stand. After trying to sell it three times, now LDA has changed its plan to make it useful. After leasing it out for 90 years, finishing the budget hotel will have to be operated by the selected operator.
Chief Engineer Indushekhar Singh said that on the instructions of the VC, a proposal has been made to lease the hotel. This lease will be given in part of 30-30 years. The contract will be extended for another 30 years on fulfillment of the terms. This will require approval from the LDA board. After this, a hotel company will be selected to operate on lease after the tender process. The LDA has so far spent around Rs 60 crore on this budget hotel. Apart from the rooms to stay in this nine-storey building, there are also conference hall, banquet hall, food court and restaurant. A separate space has been reserved for parking outside the bus stand. VC Akshay Tripathi has also made it clear that LDA will not spend any money on this project. This should be clarified while choosing the operator on lease.
Offer sought in seven days
The VC also held a meeting on Friday regarding the preparations for the LDA board meeting. In this, all the departments have been asked to submit their proposals within seven days. After meeting next week, the VC will finalize the proposals to be placed before the board.
