Acquisition of 1,334 hectares of land
State government spokesperson said that 1,334 hectares (about 3,300 acres) of land has been acquired for the first phase of Jewar airport. The airport construction work has been awarded to Zurich International Airport AG of Switzerland through a global tender.

Construction will be done in four phases
Noida International Airport will be constructed in four phases. About 30 thousand crore rupees will be spent in the construction of the airport. The airport will be commissioned in the first phase in 2023-24. It will have an annual capacity of 1 crore 20 lakh passengers per annum. In the second phase, the passenger capacity of the airport will be increased to 3 crore by 2031. In 2036 its capacity will be 50 million and in 2040 it will have an annual capacity of 70 million passengers.

The spokesman said that several important projects are being developed in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area near Noida International Airport. These include Film City, Medical Device Park, Electronic City, Apparel Park. The Aligarh node of the Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor is also adjacent to this area. Multi-modal logistics hub at Dadri and multi-modal transport hub at Bodaki are being developed. He said that in the coming days, this area would become the biggest center for the activities of the industrial and service sector.
