India has been elected a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, a cultural organization of the United Nations, for a period of four years. India has got a big achievement for the second consecutive week. Last week he was re-elected to the Executive Board of UNESCO.

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) from India tweeted that India has been elected to the World Heritage Committee with 142 votes. His term will be of four years till 2021-25. This committee does important work like implementation of World Heritage treaties, utilization of World Heritage Fund, providing funds to member countries on their request.

Earlier on November 17, India was re-elected to the Executive Board of UNESCO. This term will also last for four years i.e. till 2021-25. For this he got the support of 164 countries.
