Imf Says Indian Economy To Grow At 9.5 Per Cent This Year And 8.5 In 2022

The IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook (WEO) has kept India’s growth forecast at its previous estimate released in July this year, albeit 1.6 per cent lower than its April estimates. According to the latest WEO released ahead of the annual meeting of the IMF and the World Bank, the global growth rate is projected to be 5.9 percent in 2021 and 4.9 percent in 2022.

Gopinath said, “We have not changed our growth forecast for this year for India. I mean India came out of a very difficult second wave and there was a big drop in July, but there is no change in our forecast so far.
