Counting of votes has started from 8 am. The mandate was captured in EVMs on October 30 in Fatehpur in Kangra, Arki in Solan and Jubbal Kotkhai assembly constituencies of Shimla district, including Mandi parliamentary constituency.

Counting will be held in Mandi, Sundernagar, Jogendranagar, Kullu, Rampur, Keylang, Bharmour and Reckong Peo. The results of the by-elections for one parliamentary and three assembly constituencies, which are considered to be the semi-finals of power, will be important. Victory procession will not be able to take out due to Corona
State Chief Electoral Officer C Palrasu said that in compliance with the guidelines issued due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, there will be a ban on taking out victory processions by the winning candidates or their supporters after the results of counting are declared. Not more than two people will be allowed to accompany the winning candidate or his authorized representative at the time of obtaining election certificate from the Returning Officer.
