A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs said that the Pope appreciated India’s assistance to countries in need during the pandemic. In addition, leaders of other countries spoke on the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences for people around the world. He also discussed in depth the challenge posed by climate change. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said that Prime Minister Modi had a meeting with the Presidents of the European Commission and the Council and the Prime Minister of Italy.
