The Uttar Pradesh Common Entrance Test (UPCET) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, pharmacy and management institutes of the state (AKTU, MMTU and HBTU) except BTech-BArch began on Sunday. The entrance examination is being conducted in three shifts on September 05 and 06, for which a total of 197 centers have been set up across the country.
On the first day of the entrance examination, the examination was conducted for admission to courses like MBA, MCA, MTech etc. Around 12,000 students appeared in the first day’s examination. The students who appeared for the exam said that the paper was of moderate level. MCA aspirant Dilip Kumar said that the most difficult of the four sections was the numerical aptitude section. Whereas Mathematics, Computer Awareness and Reasoning part were easy. More or less the same level of paper was also of MTech, MBA and Bdesh.
For the first time this year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting entrance examination at the national level for admission to UG-PG courses in engineering, pharmacy and management institutes of the state. Online Computer Based Test is being conducted by NTA. Only the qualified candidates will be taken admission in the said institutes. Whereas admission in B.Tech will be done by NATA for JEE Main and B.Arch.
