Further said that RSS ideologue VD Savarkar presented India with strong defense and diplomatic doctrine. He was India’s largest and first expert on defense matters.

The Defense Minister said that people of Marxist and Leninist ideologies accuse Veer Savarkar of being a fascist and a supporter of Hindutva. A campaign is being run to defame Savarkar. Whereas, his ideology was nationalist. He said that Savarkar had a vision about Hindutva which was related to the geographical location and culture of India. For them the word Hindu was not associated with any religion, creed or religion but was associated with the geographical and cultural identity of India. “One may object to this thinking but it is not proper to hate on the basis of this idea,” he said.

Mohan Bhagwat said nationalism is the target of the people
Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat also attended the event. He said that since independence, there was a campaign to defame Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. In today’s time there is really lack of correct information about Veer Savarkar. Actually, the target was not an individual but nationalism.
