Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a meeting with the health ministers of the state and union territories on Thursday regarding corona vaccination. The Central Government has recently started the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign to complete the corona vaccination of people above 18 years. This meeting is going to be held to know its progress. This meeting will be virtual on Thursday.

Earlier on November 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with more than 45 district collectors and health officials from 12 states and union territories. In these districts, less than 50 percent people have received the first dose of corona vaccination.

37 percent of the eligible population received both doses
The population of people above the age of 18 years eligible for corona vaccine in the country is 94 crores. According to health ministry officials, out of this, about 79.2 percent of the eligible adult population has been administered one dose of the corona vaccine, while more than 37 percent have been given both.

Three vaccines being used
Nationwide free corona vaccination was started in the country from January 16 this year. At present, three vaccines are being used in the campaign. Serum Institute’s Covishield, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and Russia’s Sputnik V are being given doses of vaccination. Soon children’s vaccine will also be started.
