In this scheme, along with connecting destitute women with self-employment, many other facilities can be given, including training them for skill development and benefiting from departmental schemes. The draft of the proposed new scheme at the level of Women’s Welfare Department has almost been prepared. It is ready to be implemented in the state soon.

Let us inform that on the occasion of launching ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana’ (General) for children, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also announced to start a new scheme for destitute women.

According to the proposal, the benefit of this scheme will be given to all those women of the state, who have become destitute due to any reason other than Kovid. In this scheme, no cash amount will be given to any beneficiary woman, but arrangements will be made for their permanent livelihood. Although many provisions are being made in the scheme for this, but mainly to link them with self-employment, as well as in other ways, priority will be given to the benefits of the schemes.

A highly placed source of the department said that along with preparing the draft of the scheme, the identification of the beneficiary destitute women has also been started. In-principle consent has been received to implement the scheme at the level of Chief Minister. Soon after deciding the name of the scheme, an order to implement it will be issued.

For the implementation of this scheme, the Women’s Welfare Department will work as the nodal department, but in its operation, the help of 9 departments including Social Welfare Department, Child Development Services and Nutrition, Education etc. will be taken. The beneficiary women of the schemes of these departments will also be given benefits.

Preference will be given in job on contract
According to the proposal of the new scheme, under this scheme, the beneficiary women will also be given priority in the appointments on contract in government departments. They will be given jobs on the basis of merit. Apart from this, they will also be given jobs in government and private sector by giving them skill development training.
