Foreign Boards Students Seeking Admission in CBSE Affiliated Schools: CBSE has decided that now foreign board students do not require any prior approval by the respective board for taking admission in CBSE affiliated schools.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided great relief to foreign students and their parents in this era of Corona epidemic. CBSE has done away with the requirement of prior approval of the Board of Education of their respective country for students studying in foreign boards who wish to take admission in CBSE affiliated schools. This has brought a sigh of relief to thousands of such children and parents who have come back to India from abroad during the pandemic.

CBSE in its notification said that in the post-corona pandemic period, many families are shifting to India due to various reasons. Therefore, CBSE has decided that now foreign board students do not require any prior approval by the respective board for taking admission in CBSE affiliated schools.

Since admission is given to students of other boards on the basis of similarity of classes of two different boards, so every time students are transferring to CBSE from foreign boards, they are applying to CBSE through school So that they can get approval to apply for admission in class IX to XII on the basis of equivalence.

Keeping in view the present circumstances and problems of these students and their families, CBSE has decided that henceforth, students do not require such prior approval from the Board for taking admission in CBSE affiliated schools. The list of equivalence of Class X and XII of foreign boards having similar classes of CBSE is available on the CBSE website, thereafter, admission can be offered to the students by the schools without any approval from CBSE.

A circular dated 22.11.2021 has been issued in this regard which is enclosed herewith.
