By Election Result Live: Counting Is Going On In Four Seats Of West Bengal And Five Seats Of Assam

Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress has won a unilateral victory in the by-elections to four assembly seats in West Bengal. According to the latest figures, TMC has won all the four seats. TMC has won the Gosaba, Dinhata, Khardah and Shantipur assembly seats.

Trinamool Congress candidate Subrata Mandal has won the Gosaba assembly seat by a margin of 1,43,051 votes. In Dinhata, TMC candidate Udayan Guha defeated his rival by 1,64,089 votes. Similarly, party’s candidate Shobhandev Chattopadhyay has won Khardah assembly seat by a margin of 93,832 votes.

Apart from this, Trinamool candidate Braj Kishore Goswami has defeated BJP candidate Niranjan Biswas by 64,675 votes in Shantipur assembly seat.

Even before the full results were out, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had congratulated all four of her candidates for the victory. He tweeted – ‘Congratulations to all the four candidates. This is a victory of the people, because it shows that the people of Bengal will always choose development and unity over false propaganda and politics of hatred.’
