The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report of the Election Commission. In this, full details of the earnings of regional political parties across the country have been given. Earlier the report of income and expenditure of national political parties has also come.
According to these reports, among the regional parties, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has earned the highest in the year 2019-20. TRS’s income stood at Rs 130.46 crore during the year. Shiv Sena earned Rs 111.403 crore at number two and YSR Congress earned Rs 92.739 crore on the third.
Talking about national parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) earned the highest Rs 3623.28 crore. The income of Congress stood at Rs.682.21 crore and that of CPM was Rs.158.62 crore. In the year 2019-20, the Bahujan Samaj Party has earned more than the Samajwadi Party. The income of the SP stood at Rs 47.276 crore and the party spent more than it earned. The SP has shown an expenditure of Rs 55.692 crore during this period. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has shown an earning of Rs 58.256 crore and an expenditure of Rs 95.054 crore during this period. Bihar’s JDU earned Rs 23.354 crore and spent Rs 10.679 crore. Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has shown an income of Rs 49.651 crore, while an expenditure of Rs 38.875 crore was incurred. The income of Sharad Pawar’s NCP has increased the highest at 68.77% as compared to 2018-19. NCP earned Rs 34.873 crore in the year 18-19, which increased to Rs 85.583 crore in 19-20. Similarly, there has been an increase of 50.34% in the earnings of BJP. In 2018-19, the income of BJP was Rs 2410.08 crore which increased to Rs 3623.28 crore. Congress’s income has come down by 25.69%. In the year 2018-19, the Congress had shown an income of Rs 918.03 crore, which this time came down to Rs 682.21 crore. In terms of expenditure also BJP is ahead. The party spent Rs 1651.022 crore in the year 19-20. Meanwhile, Congress has spent Rs 998.158. CPM spent Rs 105.686 crore, Trinamool Congress Rs 107.277 crore, NCP Rs 109.185 crore, BSP Rs 95.054 crore, CPI Rs 6.535 crore.
If we look at the figures of regional parties, Biju Janata Dal i.e. BJD has spent Rs 186.130 crore, TDP Rs 108.840 crore, Shiv Sena Rs 98.379 crore, DM Rs 71.038 crore. National and regional parties have not given correct information about 75% of their earnings. Meaning, the parties have not made public the information about who has given this amount and how.
In the year 2019-20, 42 regional parties have earned the most from donations and electoral bonds. Meanwhile, these parties have shown a total earning of Rs 877.957 crore. Out of this, 77.03% i.e. Rs 676.326 crore income has come from donations and electoral bonds. However, there are also Rs 447.498 crore of these, whose identity or source of income has not been publicly released. Meaning they are shown as anonymous donations.
Talking about national parties, more than 2993.826 amount has been shown through electoral bonds. Meaning the identity of those who paid this amount has not been made public by the political parties.
