Summary

The climate of Haryana has deteriorated before Diwali. The names of Faridabad and Gurugram are included in the five most polluted cities of the country. The air quality of any city in the state is not satisfactory.

Even before Diwali, the air in 16 out of 22 districts of Haryana has reached the ‘poor’ category. According to the data released by the Central Pollution Control Board at 7 pm on Wednesday, the air level in any district of the state is not satisfactory. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in all the districts ranged from 108 to 362.

At the same time, two districts of the state, Faridabad and Gurugram were included in the five most polluted cities of the country. The AQI of these two cities was 362 and 354 respectively. In such a situation, after the bursting of firecrackers on Diwali, the air can reach dangerous levels. In Gurugram, Faridabad, Charkhi Dadri and Bahadurgarh, the air has crossed the dangerous level 300.

In view of the rapidly increasing pollution in the last few days, four days ago the Haryana State Disaster Management Authority has banned the manufacture and use of firecrackers in 14 districts of NCR. Despite this, firecrackers are being burst in urban and rural areas. The second major reason is increasing pollution from the stubble being burnt in the fields. More than 1700 cases of stubble burning have been reported in the state. If the AQI level is more than 100, respiratory patients and corona patients can have problems.
