Summary

New 38 thousand villages of UP will be brought under Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojana. In two phases of this scheme, water is being supplied from door to door in Bundelkhand and Vindhya regions.

38 thousand new villages will be added in Har Ghar Jal Yojana. A target has been set to benefit the people by the year 2022 from this scheme. Under the scheme, instructions have been given to expedite the work of preparing DPRs for new villages.

These villages belong to Bundelkhand/Vindhya regions. Under this scheme under Namami Gange, water is being supplied from door to door in Bundelkhand/Vindhya areas in two phases.

According to Principal Secretary Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Anurag Srivastava, 891 revenue villages out of total 4,513 revenue villages of Jhansi, Mahoba, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Banda and Chitrakoot of Bundelkhand region are already connected with piped drinking water schemes.

There are 479 underground and surface based schemes for providing pure drinking water in 3,622 revenue villages of the remaining 07 districts. About 67 lakh people will benefit from this. 10,322.42 crore is likely to be spent on these schemes.
